DTERM SERIES E ADAPTER (IPW-2U)
The PBX market is on the verge of transformation with the advent of IP technology. IP Telephony enables IP phones to be connected directly to the LAN, replacing or transforming a company's existing phone system. Factors driving customer expectations around IP communications include: 1) anticipation of savings resulting from convergence of voice-data networks based on open standard systems, 2) rapid development of convergence and eBusiness transforming applications, and 3) availability of enterprise-class communications anywhere anytime. With NEC's IP Telephony Station solution, you can converge your data and voice network without the fear of losing features/functions on either network.
With the integration of NEC IP Station solutions, today's on-the-move work force can stay connected with customers and colleagues no matter where they are. Phone features, which previously existed only on your phone at your desk can now be transported anywhere in the network. By simply logging into any IP phone within your network, your profile is instantly available on the new phone location. There is no need to program the functions of the phone. You can freely move from station to station, floor to floor, office to office knowing that any phone you're logging into will provide you the same features and functions which exist on your original phone (requires the same phone type and button layout. Logging in on another phone type may result in lost feature or function access.)
Built In Adaptability
The Dterm® Series E telephone has been uniquely designed to support the migration path of the future. If you already have the Dterm Series E Phone you can be upgraded to the IP Telephony world. No need to purchase a new phone. Inserting the IPW-2U adapter into the plug-in adapter located on the bottom of the Dterm Series E phone transforms it into an IP station.
IP Capable
NEC's Dterm Series E combined with the IPW-2U (IP Enabler plug-in adapter) provides IP capability right at the telephone set with integrated LAN connectivity. The IP enabler dynamically acquires all the information it needs to interoperate with the IP Telephony PBX:
Local IP address
Local subnet address
IP call server address
Gateway address
