IP BRANCH
Like the Dterm® IP Gateway, the Dterm IP Branch utilizes Remote Voice Protocol (RVP)™ and Remote Voice Protocol over IP (RVPoIP)™ to convert voice and NEAX® or Electra Elite® signaling into packets, which can be sent and received through a network connection.
The Dterm IP Branch is a rack-mountable (or desktop) device that connects to the corporate network over packet (i.e. xDSL and Cable) or traditional circuit switched networks including T1 (TDM), Fractional T1, ISDN or Frame Relay circuits through an external network device. Using a third-party network termination device (e.g. routers, xDSL modem, cable modem, ISDN terminal adapters, CSU/DSUs, multiplexers, FRADs, etc.) allows the Dterm IP Branch to perform in a wide variety of network environments.
The Dterm IP Branch provides a choice of voice compression algorithms, including G.729A, G.726, as well as G.711. By using advanced voice compression algorithms, the Dterm IP Branch minimizes network bandwidth requirements while ensuring high voice quality.
The use of synchronous or asynchronous data protocols allow the Dterm IP Branch to interface with a wide variety of network termination equipment in order to maximize the user's connectivity options. In addition, remote administration access is provided for the Dterm IP Branch units to maximize ease-of-use and manageability for the system administrator.
